Clicker Training

Clicker Training is a positive reinforcement method of training dogs. A clicker is used to mark the precise moment your dog performs a desirable behavior such as a trick or an obedience skill. The marking of the behavior at the exact time it occurs is followed by a a reward such as a treat. Clicker training has been used successfully to train other animals such as chickens and dolphins. A variety of zoo animals are routinely clicker-trained to allow for medical care such as a gorilla offering his forelimb for a blood draw.
